The rapid development of IT today and the consequent increasing IT exposure of companies have given a rise to very wide-ranging, detailed insurance solutions.

The insurances available on the market, which offer a solution to this topic, are suitable, among other things

– to deal with claims related to the issue of data protection liability, ie in cases where the Insured has inadvertently but unauthorizedly transferred or misused the information provided to him in any way, or has inadvertently but unlawfully collected it;

– To deal with claims related to the issue of network security liability, ie in the event of damage caused by malware, hacker attacks, denial of service attacks, unauthorized use or access;

– For the treatment of claims related to cyber extortion, ie a threat or series of threats, the purpose of which is to obtain money from the Insured with the prospect of:

o Disclosure, publication, distribution, use or destruction of confidential or proprietary or personally identifiable information stored on the Insured’s computer system;

o Changing, damaging, manipulating, deleting or destroying data, instructions, information stored or transmitted on the Insured’s computer system;

o Malicious software installation;

o Initiating an attack  using  the system’s resources to prevent authorized users of the system from connecting to or accessing the system;

o Attempts to install or prevent any other malicious software that prevents access to the Insured’s system;

– To handle damages affecting data assets (if they are caused by an insured event);

– To deal with claims for damages in connection with the media, ie to commit illegal acts affecting the media in the course of a media service, which include:

o   Negligence related to the media content distributed or created by the Insured;

o   Plagiarism, piracy or abuse of ideas related to any media content;

o   Infringement of copyright, domain name, business image, address, trade name or slogan;

o   Eavesdropping, indictment in bad faith;

o   Contempt for defamation, libel, defamation, psychological harm

– Compensation for downtime damages, ie the impossibility of accessing the Insured’s computer system or data, or the creation of a disturbance in the Insured’s computer system or data that occurs independently of the property damage.
